This site is intended to be an on-line learning resource for students preparing for the NEC Computer Studies (Theory)
Examination. It will focus (for now) on Module 1 - History of Computers.
It is divided into three lessons.
- LESSON ONE - THE GENERATIONS: This focuses on the components used in each of the four
generations of computers.
- LESSON TWO - SMALLER, CHEAPER, FASTER....: Examines how changes in teachnology affects the
size, speed, reliability, memory capacity and cost of computers.
- LESSON THREE - TYPE OF COMPUTERS: Looks at Mainframe, mini and microcomputers in terms
of size, speed and capacity.
The site itself will cover the topics briefly. Then you get the chance to go straight to the best sites available
to gain further insight into the topics.
